Web 2.0

Make sure that you stay up to date with all of the constant changes in Internet Marketing. Social marketing shows no signs of slowing down, so stay familiar with MySpace, Facebook, Tweeter, etc...

Even if you are not using them to directly market your products, they are a great tool to network with fellow web entrepreneurs. You will make life long business relationships.

YouTube is also a very popular way of not only marketing your product, but marketing yourself. It allows people you are doing business with to see a more personal side, other than just a digital background and a checkout screen.

Choosing a CPA Offer

Choosing which CPA offers to promote is always a great challenge. There are many factors to take into consideration. Although the pay may look at first, the traffic that you get to that offer may be minimal.

Do your research...search for current trends. Always know what is "hot" and what is "not". There are some valuable techniques to help with your research:

Google Insights-http://www.google.com/insights/search
This an awesome tool for researching demand and comparing search patterns.

Google Trends-http://www.google.com/trends
This tool allows you to track keyword searches over a course of time.

eBay Pulse-http://www.pulse.ebay.com
Pulse gives you a list of the most popular eBay searches.

There are many other tools like this to use, but mostly use your common sense and stay in tune with what people are interested in. Read magazines, watch TV, etc...

Pay-Per-Click Advertising in CPA

PPC (Pay-Per-Click) is the main method of gaining targeted traffic to your CPA campaigns. Google AdWords, Yahoo, and MSN are the main companies that you want to place ads with.

Be careful though, it takes a lot of time and research to develop a cost-effective ad campaign. Do your keyword research beforehand so you don't lose your shirt. Remember, the name of the game is getting "GOOD" traffic to your offers. If they click on your link, but don't submit to the offer it's just a loss on your end.

You are definitely going to need a toolbox full of useful tools to make this work. Luckily, I am here to provide you with some free ones:

Google Keyword Tool-http://adwords.google.com/select/keywordtoolexternal
This is the most popular keyword research tool available online (and it's FREE).

Wordtracker-http://www.wordtracker.com
This has a Free and Paid version. It is one of oldest research tools out there, but for a newbie with no start-up funds the free features may provide some benefit.

What is CPA?

CPA or Cost-Per-Action is a term that more and more internet maketers are trying to become familiar with. CPA in a nutshell is when a publisher draws targeted traffic towards an advertising campaign. The publisher, in turn, gets paid by the advertiser for every new lead generated.

The traffic can be directed to the offer in a number of ways:

  • Organic Search Traffic
  • PPC
  • Viral Videos
  • ETC....

CPA networks were created to provide a easier avenue for publishers to access several different advertisers. The publisher enrolls with a CPA Network (or many CPA Networks) and is assigned an affiliate manager. The affiliate manager directs the publisher to the best campaigns available to suit their needs.

In the end, the advertiser pays the CPA Network, the CPA Network pays the publisher, and the advertiser ends up with a valuable lead to market their product to.
